Orston Plaster Pits

How to get there:

There is no public access and the site is fenced off though it can be partially overlooked by walking south west from Orston village along the track leading off Lombard Street. There is not much to see, though there is a small area of marsh to the west of this track and an interesting piece of set aside with a generous amount of Bird's-foot Trefoil

Information

If it were accessible, visitors would be able to enjoy the variety of plants for which the site was declared a SSSI. These include Pepper Saxifrage Silaum silaus, Fairy Flax Linum catharticum, Upright Brome Bromopsis erecta and Bee Orchid Ophrys apifera.
