Wildlife Sites in Rushcliffe

Bridgford Street Meadow

How to get there

From East Bridgford village the site can be accessed via various footpaths: From the south via the new byway alongside the new A46 to the west of Butt Lane and Springdale Lane or from the north, by taking the bridleway at the junction of Kirk Hill and the A6097. A recent OS map will reveal other routes.

Information

A section of the bridleway running alongside and to the north-east of the A6097 which was formerly species-rich grassland and which had become scrubbed over was cleared in about 2011 by a partnership of the Borough and Parish Councils and the East Bridgford Wildlife Group. It is now developing its former characteristics thanks to the funding and the agreement of its owners, the diocese of Southwell and Nottingham.
